Bio

A picture of Gayle Marles

My journey into photography ignited when my father gifted me my inaugural camera, a Pentax K1000, back in the 80s. It was a pivotal moment, realising the flood of ideas and images swirling in my mind that I yearned to immortalise on film. Today, that initial spark has evolved into an enduring passion.

My educational voyage led me to East Sydney College, and my professional trajectory saw me becoming a photographer for the Gold Coast Sun Newspaper. Additionally, I ventured into freelance work with Gold Coast Magazine, contributing to editorial stories and fashion projects in collaboration with Publicist Karen McKinley.

Throughout my career, Black and White photography has consistently been the heartbeat of my artistic expression. It remains my preferred medium, woven seamlessly into the fabric of my work.

Beyond the lens, there's nothing more gratifying than sharing my ardor. This I accomplish through personalised, one-on-one photographic sessions, where I extend my passion to others, capturing moments that resonate beyond the frame.
